Deadline Extended for Clean Air Action Awards Nominations
Companies at Ports of Long Beach, LA have until May 20
April 26, 2011
The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles have extended the deadline to May 20 for nominations to the prestigious San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan Air Quality Awards. The CAAP awards recognize the exemplary efforts of port operators who go above and beyond what is required, making an extra effort to clean the air.
Nominations will be accepted for port tenants operating at either port, and other companies that serve the ports (e.g. shipping lines, trucking companies, rail operators) who have demonstrated a strong commitment during 2010 to reduce air pollution from port-related sources.
Only port tenants and other operators that serve the ports are eligible for this program; technology vendors are not eligible. Self-nominations will also be accepted.
Awards will be offered in four categories:
- Air Quality Improvement Leadership at the Corporate Level
- Innovative Air Quality Improvement Technologies
- Innovative Operations that Improve Air Quality
- Significant Early Action to Reduce Air Pollutant Emissions
Nominations should include detailed information about the candidate's clean air efforts. Awards will be presented this summer.
Nominations are due by 4 p.m., May 20, 2011.
