Port Forecasting Event Set for March 30

Don't miss top industry experts' insights on cargo outlook

The Port of Long Beach will host its annual industry forecast event, "Pulse of the Ports: Peak Season Forecast," March 30 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Long Beach. The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

This event will be webcast live at www.polb.com/webcasts.

Last year was a banner year for the Port of Long Beach as it posted the biggest container cargo gains of any port in the U.S. The Port moved 6.3 million container units in 2010, 1.2 million more than the year before. As global trade climbs out of the recession, come hear what the top industry experts have to say about global economic outlook and trends up and down the supply chain.

The speakers this year include: Dan Smith (Principal, The Tioga Group), Jon Gold (Vice President, Supply Chain & Customs, National Retail Federation), Frank J. Baragona (President, CMA CGM/America LLC), Ed DeNike (President, SSA Containers), Clarence W. Gooden (Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, CSX Corporation) and Josh Owen (President, Ability Tri-Modal and Chair of California Trucking Association Intermodal Groupation).
