 | Port Seeks Comment on Aggregate Terminal EIR June 23, 2009 The Port is seeking public input on the planned Environmental Impact Report for a proposed sand, gravel and aggregate terminal in the harbor district. Comments will be accepted until 4:30 p.m., July 2, 2009. Cemera Long Beach, LLC, would construct and operate the facility on privately owned land.
The vacant, 12.6-acre site is in the northeast part of the Harbor District, on Pier B Street next to the National Gypsum Co. facility.
The project is being proposed by a private company on private land. Because the site is in the Harbor District, the project is undergoing environmental review by the Port of Long Beach. As part of that process, the Port has held public "scoping" meetings to gather input in advance of preparing the EIR.
See the Notice of Preparation of a Draft EIR. See the fact sheet. See the meeting flier. Comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on July 2, 2009. |
