Concepts Sought for Parks and Open Space Projects

Proposal papers are due May 1 for Community Grants Program funding

March 27, 2019

The Port of Long Beach is accepting concept paper proposals for parks projects that would buffer the area surrounding the Port from sources of port-related air quality and noise impacts.

Projects that will be eligible for funding under the Parks and Open Space portion of the Community Grants Program would help mitigate air quality and noise. To view project guidelines and workshop presentations, go to www.polb.com/grantopportunities.

Concept papers, which must be submitted online, are due by 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 1.

To date, more than $8 million has been awarded under the Community Grants Program. Including money awarded under a previous grant program, the Port of Long Beach has given about $25.8 million for community-centered environmental grants and committed almost $65 million, more than any seaport in the nation.
