Learn about upcoming projects in the Port of Long Beach’s North Harbor area at a “Let’s Talk Port” community forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Long Beach Multi-Service Center, 1301 W. 12th St., Long Beach 90813.
The event includes updates on three planned Port projects:
- The Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility Program
- Operational closure of the Ninth Street at-grade railroad crossing
- North Harbor Pavement Rehabilitation Project (street repair)
The program will feature a short presentation followed by Q&A and a chance to talk with Port representatives.
The Port is in the planning and design phase of the $870 million Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility. The program’s environmental impact report was certified earlier this year.
In a separate project to improve cargo movement, the Port is considering the closure of the Ninth Street at-grade rail crossing, which is near the intersection with Pico Avenue.
The North Harbor Pavement Rehabilitation project is set to begin construction in October, bringing needed repairs to local roads in the area.
Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by Monday, Sept. 17. RSVP for the event here.
