October 18, 2012
The connector from the southbound I-710 Freeway to westbound Ocean Boulevard/Gerald Desmond Bridge will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, October 21, for restriping of lanes. Those with tickets for the weekend's Train Tours and heading into the Port will not be affected and can continue on the southbound 710 into the Port.
Motorists will be redirected by signs to go around the southbound 710-Ocean Boulevard connector closure by exiting the freeway at Pico Avenue then getting back on the Ocean/Desmond Bridge ramp.
Meanwhile there will be lane closures this weekend on the Desmond Bridge. On Saturday, October 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., only one eastbound lane will be open. On Sunday, October 21, one lane in each direction will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The L.A. County Department of Public Works will be performing bridge repairs.
