Duane L. Kenagy, P.E., is the Port's Interim Chief Executive, appointed to the position by the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners in September 2016. During the search for a permanent Chief Executive, Kenagy will lead the Port's Harbor Department staff of over 500 people with an annual budget of nearly $900 million.

Dr. Noel Hacegaba
Dr. Noel Hacegaba serves as the Managing Director of Commercial Operations at the Port of Long Beach, California. He was appointed to the post in October 2014 by the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners. Reporting directly to Port Chief Executive Jon Slangerup, Dr. Hacegaba functions as the Chief Commercial Officer and leads the Port’s Business Development, Customer Service, Terminal Operations and Security functions. Before his appointment, Dr. Hacegaba had served as Acting Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Port since June 2013.

Douglas A. Thiessen
Douglas A. Thiessen has been Managing Director of Engineering Services since February 2007. He oversees the Port's design, construction management and program management divisions, heading all Port engineering and construction projects and overseeing an annual project budget of more than $200 million.

Richard D. Cameron
Richard D. "Rick" Cameron was named Managing Director of Planning & Environmental Affairs in January 2014. He guides the Port's environmental, transportation, and master land use planning divisions and coordinates short- and long-range land use planning with an eye toward forecasted commodity trends in international trade and commerce.

Charles W. (Chuck) Adams is the Acting Managing Director of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for the Port of Long Beach, California. Mr. Adams oversees the Port's Finance, Real Estate, Information Management, and Risk Management Divisions.

The Managing Director of Communications oversees the Harbor Department’s Communications and Government Relations divisions, enhancing the Harbor Department’s award-winning advocacy and communications efforts, working with a team of twenty-five employees, contractors and outside agencies and a total budget over $5 million.

Louis Gutierrez is Managing Director of the Human Resources and Team Development Bureau at the Port. The bureau is dedicated to supporting recruiting, employee relations, compensation, HR information systems, and employee learning and development of Harbor Department personnel, which number more than 500. The bureau also provides records management support.

Al Moro is the Acting Senior Executive Lead for Capital Programs. He oversees all elements of the Port’s decade-long, $4 billion+ capital development program – the largest infrastructure investment of any port in the nation – with a goal of completing a number of landmark projects on schedule and within budget.

Michael Christensen is Senior Executive Lead for Supply Chain Optimization. He is responsible for working collaboratively with industry stakeholders to find new ways to increase communication and cooperation among the links of the supply chain to enhance cargo flow.

Richard E. Jordan
Richard E. Jordan began his duties as Chief of Staff to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners in December 2015. The Chief of Staff assists the Board in making key decisions, coordinates all administrative and communications functions for the Board, serves as a personal advisor on general issues, makes recommendations on policy issues and coordinates trade missions and conferences, among other duties.
