The Port of Long Beach will take comments until July 11 on an environmental impact report/environmental impact statement (EIR/EIS) for the Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project, a proposed $750-million, 10-year project that would create 14,000 new, permanent jobs and cut air pollution at two port terminals by 50 percent or more from existing levels. | Port of Long Beach cargo terminal operator California United Terminals and its parent shipping line, Hyundai Merchant Marine, were recognized by the Board of Harbor Commissioners on Monday, June 2, 2008, for a recent donation of $100,000 to Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School.
