  • Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia has been appointed vice chair of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) Task Force on Ports and Exports. Garcia attended the task force’s most recent meeting in Washington, D.C., during the USCM’s 84th Winter Meeting held Jan. 20-22.
  • The Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved a three-year contract capped at $2.8 million with PacRim Engineering Inc. to begin planning and design work on the proposed Terminal Island Wye Track Realignment Project. The project is part of the Port's ongoing $1 billion capital program to improve rail operations portwide.
